Purpose & Scope:
The Assistant Operations Manager plays an integral role in supporting the operations team in a fast-paced produce environment. This role works closely with the Production Manager & Director of Operations to oversee all aspects of production and distribution, from production planning and packaging, to receiving, picking, and shipping, all while ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to quality standards. This role also supports the Production Manager and Director of Operations in coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary action. Job performance is measured by service level efficiency and execution to meet the needs of the customers, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and managing the Distribution Centre (DC) schedules for production and shipping and receiving.
- Work in conjunction with the Procurement team to secure raw materials required for the packaging process to meet sales demand.
- Support managers in leading teams to success through coaching, discipline, training, and mentorship.
- Support receiving and order picking while ensuring accurate, timely processing and completion of all required documentation.
- Responsible for health and safety, Operations.
- Work with Operations Managers/Supervisors and staff to ensure the DC maintains a British Retail Consortium accreditation.
- Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of standardized KPI’s for the departments.
- Maintain professional communication when in contact with Staff, Customers, Growers, and Suppliers.
- Adhere to all Company policies, rules, and regulations.
- Provide support for the Director of Operations and/or Production Manager in their absence.
- Due to the nature of the role, occasional availability outside regular business hours may be required.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ supervisory experience within a production or distribution environment.
- Familiar with and understands production efficiencies and the shipping/receiving process.
- Thrives in a fast-paced setting with demonstrated urgency, excellence in organizing, prioritizing and multitasking to consistently ensure project completion.
- Excellent working knowledge of Health & Safety workplace regulations.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-directed approach and adaptability.
- Physically fit to perform tasks as required. Be able to lift 50lb on a regular basis.
- Strong aptitude for working within Microsoft 365.
- Experience with food safety accreditation programs considered an asset.

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 a year

Position: Procurement & Logistics Coordinator

Purpose & Scope:
The Procurement and Logistics Coordinator reports to the Vice-President (VP) of Sales. This role works collaboratively with the Procurement team and closely with the Sales and Production teams. The Procurement & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the planning and administration that goes with the coordination of product and transportation to support business operations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the VP of Sales and Procurement Coordinator(s) to purchase product based on previously agreed upon pricing and terms.
- Ensure all procurement documents are completed accurately and processed in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of goods to ensure timely and efficient supply chain operations.
- Track shipments and resolve any delays or logistical issues.
- Understand product specification requirements and order product to the specifications required by the customer and production.
- Source transportation providers and negotiate freight options to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Track transportation for product being sourced (domestically, from the US and internationally)
- Maintain and manage freight related to purchase orders and transfers on internal ERP system
- Administer accounts payables responsibilities of freight coordinated by the freight department
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal customers
- Create and maintain truck and trailer schedules
- Create shipping documents and process transactions (Canada, US and International)
- Work with Procurement Coordinator(s), Production and Sales to develop and plan in-bound delivery schedules; pro-actively manage the schedule and adjust as required.
- Due to the nature of the business, availability outside of regular working hours will be required to address transportation or supply chain issues.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in logistics/supply chain management or equivalent business-related experience.
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline would be an asset
- Proven ability to plan, evaluate needs and communicate with vendors.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization, Growers, and suppliers.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines, multi-task, and complete projects.
- Strong aptitude for working within Microsoft 365
- Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
Hours: Monday to Friday, with some weekends and after hours to deal with issues
Salary: $50,000 – $55,000
Expected start date: As soon as possible
