Purpose & Scope:

We are seeking a highly capable and values-driven Accounting Manager to lead our accounting function and serve as a key financial partner to the CEO and leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, values precision, and wants to contribute meaningfully to an organization rooted in agriculture, community, and growth.
The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role provides financial insight to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence. You will lead a small team, manage core accounting processes, and strengthen internal controls — all while supporting the long-term sustainability of our grower-focused business.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, production accounting, and general ledger, ensuring accuracy timeliness, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Prepare and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards.

Provide financial analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-making.

Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST, corporate income tax) and other statutory requirements.

Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.

Manage, mentor and develop the accounting team.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance environment.

Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and reporting.

Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

Provide financial insight into operational initiatives and strategic priorities.

Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization.

Adhere to all company procedures and policies
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Chartered Processional Accountant (CPA) designation or in progress.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.

Direct experience with financial statement preparation would be an asset

Excellent communication skills.

Proficient use of MS Office (MS365) and Accounting Software

Experience within agriculture, operations, or manufacturing would be an asset.
Hours: Monday to Friday, with some weekends and after hours
Salary: $80,000-$90,000
Expected start date: As soon as possible
